So, we learned in my summer semester class at Mizzou, the issue of online privacy. Oh wait, I didn't tell you I was getting my Masters Degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Media Management. I'm almost done, just my thesis to write; and I'm sure I will have plenty to blog about that in the future.
Well, my kids have told me over and over again not to put stuff on marcs nut house .com, that that can be used against you in court. Consequently you will not see any videos of the party. Enough said.
So here is the aftermath of the party. Stig Host, who is married to my Father's Cousin, Jeanne, stole the show. After the family "Toasts," Stig got up and presented Dad with this photo of Wiiliam Morse Cole. It hung at the Harvard Bussiness school where my great Grerat Grandfather had started the Accounting department . Apparently, he decided he wanted to be land poor and bought 14,000 acres in New Hampshire in 1898. It's been divided amongst his heirs ever since. And you know what, last night he looked down from wherever he's at and said, WTF.
Well, it's Saturday August 1 and we are awating the pig guy to start slow cooking the pork. Here is video from Thursday night and Friday, which was rained out. Thiswould be the only time the whole clan could handle a rainy day at the family farm. The reason, we new a front was going through that would leave lovely weather for Dad's 80th birthday celebration.
Well the White clan haes gathered at the Family Farm in New Hampshire. Here's a video introduction to the festivities.
Family is gathering today and we celbrate Dad's 80th Birthday on Saturday looks and the forecast looks fantastic. Keep you fingers crossed on the weather and check back over the next few days to see this party really get going.
Well tomorrow we are off to the family Farm in New Hamsphire, at least some of us are. Here's the RV I rented as we do not have enough beds to sleep everyone who is coming up for my Dad's 80th Birthday celebration.
Well Matt is at orientation at UVA so I thought a quick video tour of Charlotesville and UVA was appropriate. So all you family and friends who plan to visit UVA to watc play LAX - this is what you are in for.
Oh this is great. Alex has started his blog from Fiji. It sounds like he is having a wonderful time. Friends and family pardon the swearing and focus on drinking that he posts about. What do you exect when you send an 18 year old to play Master and Commander on the far side of the world. I'm posting the link here and will then go about adding it to marcwhitehouse.com.
Here is Tim Perry's reading a Celtic poem for Margie. Tim was Margie's go to guy for anything that needed to be done with her house or car or whatever. Thanks Tim from all of us!
Okay all you needy people. Due to popular demand I have loaded Frank's eulogy for his Mom below. We'll get to Jane Jeffries and Tim's...but now to popular demand we changed the order of the serivce to appease Frank's fans.
Today's post was going to be video of Alex's departure to Fiji. Tracey and I saw Alex off for his semester abroad in Australia on Saturday. Unfortunately, my Flip failed me and so we don't have any good video. It probably wouldn't have worked out well anyway, because Alex refers to this site as marcsnuthouse.com. I will however somehow find his australian blog and link to it here.
Today we are going to take a break from Margie Carroll's funeral service. We returned from Chicago, and I attended the NYC 212 Ad Club Boat party. It's an organization for interactive ad professionals consisting mostly of publishers and ad agency execs. Unfortunately the folks who run 212 wanted to make as much money as possible on the event. Since the ad execs are free and the publishers have to pay, they ended up with a boatload of mostly publishers. Then the Pukes at Microsoft arranged to make sure they had the front of the boat roped off for themselves.
It was a typical July night in NYC; crowded, steamy and a little stinky. To add to the chaos that is NYC; Obama was in town. Part of this short video shows some of the helicopters swirling around. These helos were not carrying some Master of the Universe corporate swine. The end of the video pans to the Brooklyn Bridge where they dropped Obama so he could close the East River Drive for a while.
And on a light note, the video has wonderful shots of Lady Liberty all lit up in the July night.
